we will welcome Preethi Nallu, an independent journalist from India who is currently based in Europe. She is the founder of Refugees Deeply and the winner of the European Union's 2018 Migration Media Award. She will be screening her film "Mama," which is about Afghan asylum seekers in Norway, and then talking about the film and her work telling the stories of refugees around the world. We will also host her at a meet and greet open to UNT students of all majors to talk about opportunities creating careers in journalism (including a focus on non-fiction visual storytelling and filmmaking), as well as humanitarian aid and other refugee/migration-related careers.
